I am sure all people can relate to the challenge of finding a good doctor that has a comforting manner, provides as much information as you need or request, who trusts your understanding of yourself, who takes their time and avoids treating you like an item on a conveyor belt in an assembly line at a production facility. Dr. Mandal is definitely that doctor. The office space is quaint and organic and her assistant warm and pleasant. I have only been for one visit and a consultation thereafter at the time of creating this review, so one could either take this with a grain of salt, or be impressed that after only one experience with Dr. Mandal, I am struck with how my expectations have been met.

I switched my Primary Care Dr. to Soma Mandal after years of frustration and misery in dealing with my former PCP. Dr. Mandal’s small practice is just what I was looking for. I love the online appointment system, the small, soothing office, and her her warm yet professional manner and approach to medicine. It was such a relief to find her, and recommend her to anyone looking for a PCP.

Dr Soma Mandal is the most caring and detailed doctor I have ever had. No matter how big or small the matter, she will take great care of you and help you feel comfortable and relaxed. She created an amazing system in which there are rarely ever any wait time and if you come in your scheduled time, you’re in and out in no more than half an hour. This is phenomenal as most patient visits, you sit in the waiting room for an hour before you see someone. She also personally follows up with you via phone or email.

I am very comfortable with Dr. Mandal. She seems systematic and thorough. She always explains what she is doing. She guides you through her thought process with the diagnosis. She tells you when she doesn’t know what the problem is. She doesn’t hesitate to refer you to the appropriate specialist. She is responsive to questions.

Dr Mandal is excellent. She gives you her personal attention and listens to your case without rushing things. The appointments are also well-spaced through the day so that the patient is not rushed in and out of consultations. That is definitely a plus point! Also, their system of getting appointments online is very efficient and a real bonus in New York City!

Dr. Mandal was very courteous, understanding, and has a humble approach. Her office is very intimate and inviting, and she definitely knows what she’s doing. I didn’t have to wait at all. I’m glad I went with my instinct to try her out, after searching for another primary care physician because I wasn’t happy with my former one.

Dr. Mandal is truly one of the best doctors anyone could go to. I’ve had health issues that have run the gamut from a bad flu to a life threatening illness and without a doubt I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Dr. Mandal. She is the perfect combination of kind and no-nonsense. She runs her practice efficiently and therefore you know you’ll always have her full attention when you are with her, because she’s never running late. I trust her with my health concerns, her knowledge is sound, and when she’s referred me to other doctors they have proven to be of the same high caliber. Since coming to Dr. Mandal it’s been easier to manage my health issues because of the way she partners with you and works with you to find the best solution. She puts my mind at ease – not every doctor makes you feel this secure!

Just saw Dr. Mandel for my first doctor’s appointment in 7 years. I had needed a doctor for quite a while so it was a great relief to find her. She has a great, calm manner and her office is quite conveniently located. She does online appointments and sees her clients ontime, which is so important for us working people. I have had my fair share of impersonal, revolving-door doctors’ offices in New York; so looking for a primary care provider with whom I really felt comfortable was a challenge to say the least. Based on recommendations I had read online, I decided to pay Dr. Mandal a trip for a medical issue I experienced earlier this year. After that initial visit, I have since been back to her office another two times– one was a follow-up and the most recent was for a physical exam. While professional, Dr. Mandal also demonstrated kindness, true caring, and a willingness to listen each time I went to see her. She also gave me a couple of really great referrals for specialists, and I would definitely feel comfortable going back to her for all my primary care needs in the future.

I’ve been feeling worried about something lately, and went to see Dr. Mandal to get a checkup. I always feel very comforted by the fact that she does the entire exam herself, and is happy to explain things to me if I ask. Although I don’t have any results back yet, I feel better knowing that I’ve been poked and prodded by such a trustworthy doctor.

I’m on my second year with Dr. Mandal. Her office is exceedingly inviting and her staff is friendly. She is very open-minded when listening to your ailments and your theories as to where you think they might come from. Coming from a small town where I used to have a very attentive doctor, I find this office and Dr. Mandal’s demeanor very enjoyable. There aren’t throngs of people waiting for hours to see her, and she gives you the attention you would hope to have when discussing your body. Also great is that you can book an appointment over the Internet.

I really appreciated Dr. Mandal and her assistant coming in on a Saturday to serve patients. Also, her assistant was very patient when I had misunderstood an appointment time and the doctor agreed to see me on a Saturday since I wouldn’t be able to make it the following week. I think Dr. Mandal had good communication skills with me as her patient and I felt comfortable discussing personal issues. I thought it was interesting that she didn’t ask anything about my marital status or ask if I wanted an HIV test or about domestic violence issues, but that may be because sexual and reproductive health is my background and I am interested to learn about the kinds of conditions that doctors screen for.

1. Easy to get an appointment and not really any wait time. I was the only person during my time of visit which was a nice feeling (unlike my visits in california where there are tons of people in the waiting room) 2. Receptionist very knowledgeable about healthcare and very helpful as well. Rare to have someone who can explain policies! 3. Doctor was nice. I felt like she got a bit defensive at times when I asked some questions about the (Which I think she misunderstood because i was only curious!). I liked that she walked me through the differences in malaria polls and gave some other travel advice.

I haven’t had a family doctor since moving from California 3 years ago so I was nervous about choosing one at random. However, the visit was great. Her office feels like a 1920′s cottage and her assistant was very friendly. Dr. Mandal herself was very compassionate, attentive and nice. She gave me her full attention and was very thorough. She also left time at the end for questions about anything else I might need. Overall, I felt like she really cared and took the time to do the right thing.

My experience was certainly positive! They have an efficient system of online booking of appointments which is very easy and convenient to use, and they also send you a reminder email before your appointment. This is a real blessing in NYC! I would happily recommend Dr Mandal to my friends and family — she is an excellent doctor, is very reassuring and gives you her time and personal attention during the consultation. Her staff is also very friendly and helpful.

Dr. Mandal is great. She has a nice office assistant who is very friendly. Dr. is very friendly and caring. Even though I saw her in the middle of the afternoon, she is patient and takes time to listen. When she was running a few minutes late for our appointment, she made sure I knew that she knew I was waiting and she told me, through her assistant, that she would be with me shortly. Never had a doctor do that before! She is very competent and confident but still quite nice. She saw me on 24 hour notice. She seems more like a really smart good friend than the usual distant doctor type. I feel very fortunate to have found her.

Dr. Mandal is the best primary care doctor I have ever seen. Making appointments is easy I am able to get in quickly. I’ve been a patient of Dr. Mandal’s for a few years now, and I’m extremely happy with the care and attention I’ve received from her. It’s easy to get an appointment and she always sees you on time, and I love the online scheduling option. Her office is warm, clean, and friendly, and she always takes time to answer all my questions without rushing. Her advice about vaccines and general health is useful, and I always feel like she has my very best interests at heart.

Dr. Mandal is an excellent primary care physician. She is highly professional and organized, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and her office environment is friendly and calm. I went in feeling terrible and left (even though I was sick) feeling much better.

Dr. Mandal is awesome and personable! She is caring, knowledgeable, patient and has a great bedside manner. She has been my doctor for 3 years and I’ve recommended her often to friends and co-workers. Her office is comfortable and calming with a friendly assistant.

Dr. Mandal is the best primary care doctor I have ever seen. Making appointments is easy I am able to get in quickly. She is highly respectful of her patients’ time and I have never waited more that a minute or two to be seen. She listens well and is willing to engage in conversations and answer lots of questions. She is also willing to discus treatment options rather than just throwing prescriptions at me. I highly recommend her!!

Dr. Mandal is amazing! The nature of her small practice allows her to focus on each patient. I never feel rushed, she answers all my questions and takes her time. She even returns phone calls personally! I am so glad I found her and I’ve recommended her to all my friends! Her assistant is helpful and friendly as well, an important element to the drs. office experience.
